Urban Development & Smart Utility Summit

Theme: Accelerating Inclusive Urban Transformation through Digital Integration

3-4 December 2025 | Hall No - MR 7

Overview

India’s urbanization journey demands resilient infrastructure and efficient utility management to meet the needs of its rapidly growing cities. Government missions like Smart Cities and AMRUT have created the foundation for transformative change, but accelerating this progress requires integrated digital solutions and collaborative governance models.

The Urban Development & Smart Utility Summit will spotlight how geospatial intelligence, digital twins, AI, IoT, and data platforms are driving smarter urban planning, robust utility systems, and sustainable service delivery in power and telecom sectors. The Summit will bring together senior officials from urban departments, municipal bodies, smart city SPVs, utility providers, policy think tanks, and technology leaders to exchange ideas, share experiences, and explore scalable solutions.

OBJECTIVES

  • Showcase national and global success stories and localized digital innovation
  • Align sector-specific goals with India’s Vision 2047 targets
  • Enable capacity building and policy-level engagements
  • Foster meaningful collaborations between government, industry, and academia

By focusing on sectors like urban development, power and telecom utilities, the program will highlight how geospatially enabled infrastructure can become a pillar for future-ready India. This track will bring together policy makers, utility providers, EPC companies, technology innovators, and domain experts to deliberate on actionable strategies, share successful global and domestic case studies, and facilitate collaborative pathways to achieve India’s long-term infrastructure ambitions.

Key Stakeholders

  • Urban areas are expected to contribute nearly 75% of India’s GDP by 2030, with 600 million people projected to live in cities.
  • The Smart Cities Mission has already implemented over 7,000 projects worth INR 1.8 lakh crore, but the next frontier lies in unlocking real-time, integrated urban intelligence systems.
  • The power sector sees over 4,000 TWh of electricity demand projected by 2047, requiring smart grids, predictive maintenance, and renewable energy integration.
  • India’s telecom sector added 180,000+ new mobile towers between 2014 and 2023, with 5G rollouts dependent on spatial planning for over 1 million small cells.

However, despite these advances, data fragmentation, low digital penetration in
utilities, and weak inter-agency coordination remain major roadblocks.
