At Geospatial World Forum 2026, Sanjay Kumar, CEO of Geospatial World, highlighted how the geospatial industry is entering a defining decade of transformation, driven by sovereign infrastructure, AI, autonomy, and real-time digital ecosystems.
He noted that the industry, currently valued at USD 670 billion, is projected to reach nearly USD 1.3 trillion by 2030, as the world moves from creating maps for humans to building intelligent mapping systems for machines and autonomous operations. He emphasized that technologies such as digital twins, automation, and spatial intelligence are fundamentally reshaping how governments, industries, and societies function.
Speaking about the broader global landscape, he stated that sovereign geospatial capabilities are no longer optional, but essential for economic resilience, governance, and national security. He also acknowledged the growing role of governments as active facilitators in building future-ready geospatial ecosystems.
Bringing together 40+ sponsors, 20+ institutional partners, and 15+ government organizations, GWF 2026 aims to foster global collaboration and accelerate innovation across the geospatial sector.
