Satellite based system to curb illegal mining in Tamil Nadu

Tamil Nadu government has requested for a Mining Surveillance System. Mining Surveillance System is a satellite-based monitoring system to check illegal mining. The system uses automatic remote sensing detection technology. BISAG University will install the system. Installation will be on entire beach. Five districts of TN have been chosen for the pilot project. The Anna University will also explore the possibility of getting the latest satellite images to monitor mining activities.
