Esri and FlightAware have collaborated to bring real-time aviation data on 2D, 3D, and even 4D aviation maps. Tracking company, FlightAware, sits on a warehouse of data. It receives live flight tracking data from more than 50 government air traffic control authorities. It then aggregates this data with over 10 satellite data link partners, like Garmin and ARINCDirect. And additionally, the company gets data from its in-house network of more than 3,400 ADS-B receivers in over 100 countries. To have all this data in a dynamic GIS environment helps to not only improve airspace design, but also to monitor airspace congestion in real time.@
