NASA releases satellite images commemorating victims of 9/11

11 September 2001, On a very clear Tuesday morning, 2 high jacked planes crashed into the World Trade Center in New York City and unexpectedly turned a 110-story skyscraper into a graveyard. Astronaut Frank Culbertson, “the only American off the planet” at the time of the attack documenting the event, that shows a plume of rising smoke. 17 years later NASA presents pictures of New York City captured by NASA astronaut Ricky Arnol, remembering the victims, survivors and heroes of tragedy.
