Mapping start up CartoDB has raised 23 million dollars in Series B round of funding. CartoDB is an online map maker and business intelligence start up which aims to make it easy for people to communicate information with a map. The company was launched in 2011 by two Spanish scientists. CartoDB has since been used by over 120,000 users to make 400,000 maps. The company will use the investment to strengthen key strategic areas: Product development, Data science, Business development, Marketing & Sales.
