According to UN Women, one in every three women faces some kind of sexual assault at least once in their lifetime. Every day there are media reports on violence against women, people protest and then after a couple of weeks, they move on to the next happening but the gender-based violence never ceases to exist.
Now we have data, internet connectivity, power of social media, and advanced technology, and additionally we have women taking up the roles to utilize the technologies and data, to innovate new ways to help women in need.
In an exclusive interview with Geospatial World, ElsaMarie D’Silva, Founder and CEO, Red Dot Foundation- Safecity spoke about ways to deal with gender-based violence, how can women and teenager girls be empowered and equipped with mediums to put their grievances and learn to tackle such issues.
