Long before you would be able to buy a self-driving car… You would be able to order one up on your smartphone. General Motors is partnering with Lyft to offer self-driving taxis. This vehicle would have a maximum speed of 30 mph. Though GM hasn’t revealed a specific timeline for the rollout of these robo-taxis, the carmaker is expanding its current business model through car-sharing. Partnership programs like these would put autonomous vehicle technology on fast-track. Even Google is looking to add more partners to its self-driving car project.
