ISROโs next in-order earth observation satellite, Cartosat-2E, will be launched on Friday from Sriharikota with 30 nanosats from foreign countries, including the US. PSLV-C38 will carry the 712kg Cartosat-2 series satellite. This will be the 40th Flight of Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle.

The satellite will join the Cartosat-2 fleet. Cartosat-2C imagery was used by the Indian Army to conduct surgical strikes across the Line of Control (LoC). PSLV-C38 will also carry 30 nano satellites weighing 243 kg. 29 nano satellites belong to 14 countries. One nano satellite belongs to India. The rocket will sling the satellites into a 505 km polar sun synchronous orbit (SSO). The objective of this launch is to provide high-resolution imagery to help India develop its surveillance capabilities.
