With the tremendous increase in cloud capability and cheaper storage, a plethora of data has become available. This makes it easier than before to create Digital Twins; however, there are opportunities as well as challenges pertaining to it. In order to fully leverage the cloud, there’s a need to align data and break silos.
“Digital Twin, first and foremost, is a data integration project about aligning data, extracting insights, and making decisions. For long-term capitalization of data, Open Standards are important. There are a lot of open industry standards that we are embracing”, says Julien Moutte, CTO of Bentley Systems.
