The second chapter of Indian Space Conclave 2023, organized by the Indian Space Association (ISpA) commences today. With the theme, โBhumandal se Brahaman Takโ (From Earth to the Entire Universe), the conclave would cover multi-sectoral usage and space capabilities impact.
At the conclave, GIFAS (Groupement des industries franรงaises aรฉronautiques et spatiales), which is the French Aerospace Industries Association inked a MoU with ISpA for strengthening industry collaboration between the two countries.
At the occasion, Cedric Post, Deputy Director International, European and Commercial Affairs, GIFAS, says, “As part of the MoU we’re committed to work together on business development, innovation, & policy regulation.”

H.E. Thierry Mathou, Ambassador-Designated of France in India graced the occasion with his inaugural address. He said, โThere is a fruitful partnership between India and France in the space sectors. Our two countries have a shared vision in building resilient Ecosystem. We are linked by a strategic partnership forged in 1999, which is extremely comprehensive covering defence, nuclear energy, security and space within the Indo-pacific partnership. Our two countries initiated space dialogue in Paris, marking new phase in our strategic relations.โ
โFrance and India are linked by 60 years of space cooperation, with the first bilateral agreement dating back to 1964.ย Our bilateral space collaboration shows remarkable continuity and ingenuity over six decades. From climate monitoring, natural resource monitoring, we can jointly create innovative space applications,โ he adds.
โWe have started to encourage strong cooperation between private sectors of both the countries.ย French space expertise aligns seamlessly with India’s ambition. India companies are most welcome to invest in France and to benefit from French and European space expertise.โ
France roadmap reflects commitment to advancement in space sector, and Indian companies will soon be a part of it. Space collaboration between India and France is an outstanding example of successful partnership based on mutual trust, technological expertise, and shared vision,โ he concludes.
