Trimble recently announced that the UK Government owned National Highways, has extended it’s contract for Trimble’s Agile Assets cloud Software. This will enable the organisation to continue its focus on delivering safer and more reliable journeys for road users across England.
A Reliable Software as a Service Model
The AgileAssets cloud software is an integrated system that provides real-time insights into the condition of bridge assets, enabling the organization to make informed decisions about maintenance and repairs. This software allows National Highways to forecast condition of their bridge assets and plan maintenance and repairs accordingly.
This then helps improve public mobility, economic prosperity and environmental sustainability by delivering a safer, more reliable and long lasting national bridge network.
AgileAssets on the Trimble platform works on the principle of the adoption of the Digital Twin, a virtual 3D model designed to accurately reflect a physical object in construction and asset operations. This data available within the model creates a robust Digital Twin that allows tracking of the transportation asset through its full lifecycle, which provides greater predictability, sustainability and lower lifetime asset costs.
The software includes an advanced support solution that helps infrastructure asset managers improve their understanding of future maintenance needs of bridges and other structures.
It is able to forecast the condition of bridge assets on England’s Strategic Road Network. These forecasts help the organization make efficient use of taxpayer funds to provide dependable bridge infrastructure throughout National Highways’ widespread network.
Trimble’s AgileAssets software supports the Road Investment Strategy (RIS3) and is a component of National Highways which uses the software to support the valuation of the structures asset stock for reporting to the UK National Audit Office (NAO).
Enhancing Infrastructure Renewal Projects
AgileAssets software helps National Highways identify infrastructure renewal projects that bring the most significant benefits in public safety, financial stewardship, economic development, and environmental responsibility.
National Highways manages more than 23,000 highway structures, including 10 tunnels, on roadways that carry more than 4 million vehicle journeys per day.
The original and the recent extended contract for Trimble’s AgileAssets software, were awarded through the UK Government’s G-Cloud framework, a purchasing program that helps government entities procure cloud-hosted IT systems efficiently and cost effectively.
As Cyndee Hoagland, Senior VP of Trimble’s Owner and Public Sector stated saying that Resilience, cost-effectiveness, and sustainability of public infrastructure has been the key focus at Trimble with digital technologies supporting customers in managing the full lifecycle of their assets helping organizations advance toward their long-term goals for delivering safer and longer-lasting infrastructure.
Trimble’s AgileAssets software is delivered through a subscription-based, SaaS model, which allows for a faster & affordable deployment than traditional software and includes enterprise-grade security as well as frequent updates to provide the latest software features.
