UK: The Geospatial Commission is organizing a briefing, on 3 December, for its crowdsourcing competition.

The UK Geospatial Commission is investing up to ยฃ1.5m in innovation projects that support the creation and/or maintenance of geospatial datasets using crowdsourcing.

To support the launch of the competition, the Geospatial Commission is hosting a briefing event on 3 December at the Future Cities Catapult in London.

This is an opportunity for potential applicants to ask questions face-to-face to ensure high-quality applications.

The competition is looking for submissions where proposals focus on improving one of the following:

  • the delivery of public services at local authority level
  • social or environmental outcomes by working with third sector organizations
  • existing public sector open datasets

Proposals must demonstrate how projects will have benefits, in either scope or scale, beyond the initial funding phase.

The closing date for this competition 30 January 2019 and full details will be available from 26 November on Innovate UKโ€™s website.
