FARO Technologies, Inc. announced that it has hired two industry veterans to strengthen its senior leadership team. They’re going to manage the worldwide hardware and R&D software teams. Avi Ray-Chaudhuri, who is vice chairman of Hardware R&D, and Wesley Tilley, who is vice chairman of Software R&D, joined the corporate on August 31, 2020.
As mentioned in the press release, Michael Burger, President and CEO of FARO, said that As FARO continues to expand its specialization in cloud-based software applications that enable long-term differentiation of their 3D solutions, they’re adding critical talent to FARO’s executive team to steer both their software and hardware R&D organizations which will accelerate their development efforts. He added that he’s thrilled to possess two industry leaders like Wes and Avi join their organization and lead these teams.
Avi Ray-Chaudhuri is experienced with over 20 years of leadership success in diverse industries including semiconductor, advanced lithography, and laser development. Earlier, he has served as VP, Engineering, Commercial Lasers for Lumentum. He significantly reduced the merchandise development cycle time and implemented best-in-class program management, engineering and operations practices at his last job. Ray-Chaudhuri earned a Doctor of Philosophy, Electrical Engineering (EE) from the University of Wisconsin and a B.S. in Electrical Engineering (EE) from Princeton University.
Wes Tilley brings quite 30 years of experience with him within the telecommunications industry, primarily within the areas of product management and R&D leadership. He last served as VP, Communications Software at Oracle, where he led a strategic shift in global business unit strategy to Cloud native, SaaS offerings within the telecommunications space. Tilley has a degree in MBA Management from Duke University and a B. Sc computing from North Carolina State University.
