Tripod Data Systems surveying software identified as top choice in user survey

< 1 Minute Read

Tripod Data Systems (TDS) announced that its surveying software was the top choice overall in a recent survey by Business News Publishing Company (BNP). Surveyors chose TDS software as their primary data collection software by a three-to-one ratio over other manufacturers, and named TDS software as their first choice in all seven categories. In four categories, TDS was chosen more often than all other software manufacturers combined.

The study asked respondents to choose the best surveying software in seven different categories. TDS was chosen as the top software in all seven categories: best value, best technical support, easiest to learn, most dependable, most innovative, most respected and most useful features. The
study also confirmed earlier reports that the majority of surveyors use TDS software products.

Another question in the study asked respondents if they would recommend the product they are using to a colleague. Of those using TDS software, 100 percent indicated that they would recommend it to a colleague. Of TDS Ranger data collector users, 97.2 percent said that they would recommend the Ranger to a colleague.

The study was conducted by BNP using a direct mail survey in March 2002. The survey was mailed to 1,000 active, qualified Point of Beginning subscribers chosen on an Nth name basis from the publication’s domestic circulation. The direct mail survey was designed by BNP’s market research staff.

TDS’ Survey Pro surveying software is a complete data collection and field computation package for surveyors and other field professionals. In addition to traverse and sideshot routines, it contains advanced road layout routines, staking routines, attribute collection and DTM routines, as well as a full suite of COGO tools.
