Hyderabad (India), February 10, 2015: At the recently concluded India Geospatial Forum, the India Geospatial Awards was organised to recognise and encourage innovations and excellence brought forward by geospatial technology developers, professionals, end users and policy makers that have fostered the geospatial industry in India.
The India Geospatial Excellence Awards for Application of Geospatial Technology in Utility Services was awarded to Tata Power Delhi Distribution Limited for their project titled 'Integration of Geographic Information System for Smarter Grid' — a geospatial application developed and implemented in the power distribution domain, which has effectively resulted in reduction in customer outage duration, robust asset management, accurate energy audit and enhanced dues recovery and also improved safety of the power network.
