AWS to support Toyota’s global mobility services platform

< 1 Minute Read

Amazon Web Services(AWS)will now be helping Toyota Motor Corporation to build a cloud platform for the Japan-based firm to process and analyze data from its vehicles. Toyota will use this platform to drive safety and security functions inside connected and autonomous vehicles. It is also expected to develop new services around them.

Enterpriseiotinsights quoted the car maker as saying that AWS will underpin Toyota’s Mobility Services Platform (MSPF). It will help Toyota engineers develop, deploy, and manage new data-driven mobility services. It will be inclusive of concerns regarding safety, security, comfort, and convenience in Toyota’s cloud-connected vehicles. Toyota will establish a foundation for “streamlined and secure” data sharing throughout the company. It is expected to accelerate its move towards connected, autonomous, shared and electric (CASE) mobility technologies.

Data collected from Toyota’s vehicles all around the globe will be applied in vehicle design and development. It will also be applied in new contextual services such as car and ride sharing, full-service leasing, proactive vehicle maintenance notifications, and driving behavior-based insurance.
