Texas, USA, 27 April 2007: Geographic Technologies Group announced that the City of Pearland, Texas has procured several additional licenses of Public Safety software from GTG’s LG GIS software suite.

The City will be implementing 20 additional licenses of LGmobile. LGmobile is the latest breakthrough in mobile software solutions. LGmobile is a field-based mobile GIS mapping software solution used in public safety vehicles. It has a simple, easy-to-use interface that allows users to access important and vital dispatching information. Active incidents, AVL units, and specific user events are all within the LGmobile interface.

James Kelt, GTG’s Regional Manager and head of GTG’s Texas office stated that “The City of Pearland has started the second phase of deploying LGmobile to Police, Fire, and EMS vehicles. The City has been using this tool in emergency vehicles for two years now and will be installing the application in 20 additional units. When responding to a 911 call for service, time is crucial; LGmobile gives Pearland’s first responders the ability to arrive on scene quicker to help save lives. By using the City’s GIS data with Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) technology, LGmobile can plot where the call is located and give the officer a geographic perspective of where they need to go. LGmobile takes GIS and CAD technology into the field to make the City of Pearland a safer place to live.”

GTG provides several LG products that provide a GIS interface for many land and public safety modules. The City’s implementation of these LG applications continues to add to the rapidly expanding number of cities and counties that are utilizing LG GIS as a distributable and unifying technology. GTG is a local government GIS consulting company offering solutions in the planning, design, implementation, and procurement of geo-technologies. For more information visit www.geotg.com.
