France: The European Space Agency (ESA) has signed a contract with Airbus Defence and Space, under which, TerraSAR-X satellite will continue to provide information for the Copernicus Data Warehouse. The agreement is valid until the end of 2020. The satellite’s data is being used for a wide range of maritime monitoring applications across Europe. TerraSAR-X is a key data source for activities addressing emergency and security related issues, reliable monitoring needs, and land cover change beyond Europe as well. This new agreement includes both archived and newly-acquired TerraSAR-X data for the Copernicus core datasets.
