ATLANTA & HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – (Business Wire) TerraGo Technologies, the leading provider of geospatial data distribution and collaboration solutions, and Intergraph Corp., the leading global provider of spatial information management (SIM) software, today announced the release of Map2PDF for Intergraph’s GeoMedia Professional 6.1, and support for international operating systems and character sets.

The new release of Map2PDF for GeoMedia adds more than 200 new datums and projections, as well as substantial support for European, Australian and African coordinate systems. This release also adds support for the Windows Vista™ operating system, non-English Microsoft Windows® operating systems, Adobe® Acrobat® Distiller version 8 and CMYK color profiles.

Intergraph GeoMedia is one of the world’s most widely used desktop geospatial solutions for accessing, displaying, analyzing, and presenting spatial data. The suite includes solutions for server, desktop, mobile and online applications and is used by businesses and governments in more than 60 countries.

“This latest version of Map2PDF for GeoMedia allows many more Intergraph customers worldwide to take advantage of the benefits of the GeoPDF format,” says Vince Smith, Intergraph GeoMedia product manager. “Intergraph customers who employ Map2PDF are able to share geospatial data with just about anyone via GeoPDF files which enhances the overall value of their geospatial data investments.”

GeoPDF is the only geospatial data distribution and collaboration format that leverages the Adobe portable document format (PDF), giving users powerful mapping functionality and capabilities via Adobe Reader which is already installed on hundreds of millions of computers worldwide. The support of CMYK color profiles gives users enhanced imaging capabilities and a realistic view of geospatial information.

“Adding additional language capabilities as well as more international projections and datums is a part of our overall strategy to expand the sales and distribution of TerraGo Technologies products worldwide,” says Brian Soliday, TerraGo Technologies vice president of sales. “GeoMedia is used extensively around the world and we are happy to see Intergraph customers leveraging the GeoPDF format to extend comprehensive geospatial data to the broadest set of users.”
