Tele Atlas North America, the U.S. arm of the world leader in digital mapping, Tele Atlas NV, and premier provider of digital map databases and real-time traffic information for the U.S., announced that George Fink has been named president and chief operating officer. Fink, former chief executive officer of Mirus Information Technology Services, Inc., will be responsible for the overall management of the Tele Atlas North America operations. Fink replaces president and COO Richard Selmeier.
Fink joins Tele Atlas North America with more than 20 years of domestic and international experience in consumer electronics and technology-enabled service industries. Throughout his career, Fink has gained expertise in growing business operations in complex emerging markets. As CEO and co-founder of Mirus Information Technology Services, Fink recruited a core management team that developed leading business intelligence, data warehousing, operational, and information management software solutions for the chain restaurant industry.
Prior to Mirus, Fink was president of COMSYS Information Technology Services, a subsidiary of Metamor Worldwide, where he led the integration of more than 20 acquisitions over four years generating revenues in excess of $600 million, 5,000 employees, and internal revenue and earnings growth of 30% per year. Before joining COMSYS, Fink was president and CEO of a leading consumer electronics rental and retail dealer with more than 1000 stores. His career also includes 15 years with Ernst & Young, where he was a Partner and served as Director of the Houston office’s Entrepreneurial Services Group.
Richard Selmeier has moved on to pursue independent business opportunities. The management and employees of Tele Atlas North America are grateful for his contributions to the company.
