Boston, USA, 28 February 2007 – Tele Atlas, a provider of digital maps and dynamic content for navigation and location based solutions, has announced that it has commissioned J.D. Power and Associates, the recognized voice in customer research, to conduct a study designed to provide the industry’s first clear review of digital map and point of interest (POI) accuracy.

Through both field research and testing, the study would offer navigation and location-based solution providers and consumers a comprehensive source of information regarding Tele Atlas’ digital map data accuracy. Specifically, the study will:

– Test and analyze portable navigation systems and the mapping accuracy of each; and
– Explore the accuracy and timeliness of Tele Atlas’ digital map database and related content.

J.D. Power and Associates has been the primary catalyst in bringing the language of customer satisfaction to a variety of industries. The ‘Digital Map Accuracy Study’ will establish a major quality benchmark, setting the mark for systems across all portable and in car navigation markets.
