Surveying And Mapping, LLC (SAM), a provider of geospatial and construction services in North America, recently announced that it has successfully acquired HALIS, formerly Metro Geospatial, LLC, a LiDAR and imagery acquisition company located in McDonough, Georgia.
HALIS has specialized in aerial data acquisition for a wide range of markets across the U.S. since its founding in 2010. They offer a full set of data acquisition and extraction services that enhance SAM’s existing aerial mapping business and will help further diversify SAM’s client base. The combination of SAM’s extensive geospatial and construction service capabilities with HALIS’s aerial mapping expertise will provide expanded opportunities and solutions for clients in multiple markets.
The American Surveyor newspaper quoted SAM President and CEO, Chris Solomon as saying that their acquisition of HALIS is another great step towards reaching their strategic growth goals. He added that they have extensive expertise in aerial mapping that supplements their own capabilities and services and are very excited about bringing their talent to their team. This will be a win for their collective clients.
The HALIS leadership staff will be joining SAM as part of the acquisition, including President Geoffrey Sease. Sease mentioned that SAM has a reputation for excellence in geospatial services nationally and they are thrilled about becoming part of their team. He believes that their combined strengths and expertise will allow them to deliver even greater value for their clients.
SAM has acquired all operating assets of HALIS, including its office in McDonough, Georgia. As of August 29, 2020, all employees of HALIS became part of SAM, LLC.
