The Latin American community (public institutions , private companies, independent professionals, universities and research centers) are invited to participate in the survey of technological trends in applications of spatial data infrastructures in Latin America eveloped in the framework of the research project “Scenarios for the analysis of new trends in Spatial Data Infrastructures in Latin America: challenges and opportunities”. This project is funded by IPGH – Pan American Institute of Geography and History and implemented by the University of Cuenca (Ecuador), Universidad del Azuay ( Ecuador ), Universidad de la República (Uruguay) and the City Council of Bogotá – IDECA (Colombia ).
The survey aims to identify applications in Latin America that link spatial data infrastructures and localization based services with new technology trends such as mobile devices, sensors attached to mobile devices, cloud computing and volunteered geographic information. The information gathered will help to establish the advancement level of this issue in Latin America.
The survey results will be published in project reports, newsletters related to the subject and articles, helping with the advertising of reported publications. Will also be mentioned to collaborators to provide information in the acknowledgments of the reports and articles.
