STAR INFORMATIC has acquired a majority shareholding in APIC SA, a GIS software company, from EADS and LYONNAISE DES EAUX France. This union is the result of a common vision of the GIS market and a willingness among all parties to take advantage of evident synergies between APIC SA and the STAR INFORMATIC group at technological and commercial levels. In joining forces, APIC SA and STAR INFORMATIC have the ambition to become the leading European GIS company over the next few years. APIC SA and STAR INFORMATIC undertake to meet fully all obligations relating to the development and maintenance of their respective product ranges and they guarantee continuity to their customers and partners. Development of links between the products will result in a rapidly expanded range of solutions offered to GIS users. LYONNAISE DES EAUX France and other SUEZ group companies who use APIC SA GIS products have offered their support to the new APIC/STAR group and will reinforce their long established commercial and technical links with APIC SA. EADS, whose strategy is focused on development in the Defense and Security markets, for their part will continue their co-operation with APIC SA for GIS software activities.
