Smart Grid: ACS Outage Management System selected by a Canadian utility

< 1 Minute Read

Kitchener-Wilmot Hydro, the Ontario based electrical utility, has selected Advanced Control Systems (ACS) – a global provider of Smart Grid automation technology – to install its PRISM real-time outage management system (OMS). The utility seeks a proven outage management system that may help them to deliver operational efficiencies, reduced outage times and enhanced communications for its huge customer base. The utility needs a system that can intergrate with their existing smart grid systems – including smart metering technology, supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) and Geographic Information System (GIS) mapping — from multiple vendors.

Talking about the move, Matt Ferraro, Project Manager, Kitchener Wilmot Hydro said, "We selected ACS for their ability to support broad smart grid functionality and for their first-class system installation, documentation, training and support."
