
Korea: SI Imaging Services (SIIS) has opened a new market for satellite imagery by jumping into UHD (Ultra High Definition) video field. SIIS established a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Contents Square Co. Ltd. to provide KOMPSAT satellite images in UHD video documentaries. By establishing MOU with Contents Square, SIIS extended field of applications of satellite images.
Satellite imagery was mainly considered for analytic purpose, but now with the use of it is proven that people can be touched by very high resolution imagery. The images will give real-like experience to the viewers showing tourist attractions all over the world.
The UHD video documentaries are called โArt in Spaceโ and will give viewers beautiful and impressive experiences with stunning satellite imagery over popular travel spots. SIIS will provide KOMPSAT-2, 3, 3A imagery to Contents Square, and with the highest resolution of 40 cm, it will provide real-like experience.
The topic of first episode is Jeju Island in Republic of Korea. The UHD documentary shows beautiful sceneries of Jeju Island which is the well-known volcano island in Republic of Korea as a tourist place.
