Pankaj Desai, CEO of Sanborn has announced that the company has won a contract with Woburn, Massachusetts, to update the city’s GIS.

Under terms of the agreement, Sanborn will capture color aerial photography and utility features and will generate color digital orthophoto imagery, 2-foot contour maps, and planimetric maps. Map scale will be 1″=40′; deliverables will be in ESRI format. Sanborn will complete the work next summer.

Occupying a 13.11 square-mile area north of Boston, the city of Woburn will use the higher resolution information Sanborn provides to upgrade its GIS to 1″=40′ base mapping, making its GIS more accurate.
