US: Sacramento Municipal Utility District (SMUD) has deployed Intergraph's SAP integration module, which connects Intergraph G/Technology, a geographic information system (GIS) custom-made for utility companies. It improves the integration and management of core IT processes and business functions, including asset and work management. The Web Services-based integration module removes the need for point-to-point interfaces between systems, which are costly to implement, maintain and upgrade. It enables enterprise application integration through any service oriented architecture (SOA)-based integration platform, such as SAP PI, Software AG webMethods, Microsoft BizTalk and Oracle SOA Suite. The integration module supports a range of different integration points with SAP.
