US: Defence and security company, Saab, and high-resolution earth imagery solutions provider, DigitalGlobe, have come together to form Vricon. The joint venture will combine Saab’s 3D technology and know-how with DigitalGlobe’s archive of billions of square kilometres of commercial satellite imagery to produce photo-realistic 3D products and digital elevation models for enterprise and government geospatial markets. Vricon, whose initial focus will be on defense, security, and infrastructure, will be headquartered in Reston, Va., US, with 50-50 ownership of both companies.
