ESRI is pleased to announce that preparations for its second annual Education User Conference (EdUC) are well underway. The EdUC is scheduled for July 5-7, 2002, in San Diego, California, immediately before the ESRI International User Conference (July 8-12, 2002).
Last year more than 400 elementary, secondary, and university educators, as well as administrators, librarians, and museum professionals, shared their experiences using geographic information system (GIS) technology. Even more attendees are expected to participate in the 2002 conference, which will include presentations, panel discussions, and hands-on workshops. Attendance is restricted to registered users of ESRI’s GIS software products.
Mr. Gerard Baker, superintendent of the National Park Service (NPS) Lewis & Clark Corps of Discovery II project, will provide the closing address. The Corps of Discovery II will trace the steps of the original expedition, beginning in Charlottesville, Virginia, in 2003, exactly 200 years after Lewis & Clark’s epic journey.
