A key component of the project, initiated by the Public Works Director, John Bennett, is that the user-friendly GIS solutions that the implementation provides are available on every City employees’ desktop. The system, which over 80 users will utilize and will query multi-databases, includes two custom applications. The ArcIMS querying and mapping application will be employed by various city agencies ranging from the Fire Department for dispatch support to the Planning Department who will use it for dynamic presentations to the Planning Committee. Address and owner information, as well as updates to property and building information will now be managed by the Cadastral Maintenance Tool application that was also created.

PlanGraphics assisted the City in achieving this goal by managing the data development and collection, application development, system integration and coordination, staff training, quality control monitoring, and finalization of any database enhancements.
