Ontario, Canada: Pictometry Canada signed a 10-year contract with Property Valuation Services Corporation (PVSC) of Nova Scotia. Under the agreement, Pictometry will provide annually-updated aerial imagery and geospatial software to PVSC, creating a province-wide geospatial information solution enabling property valuation collaboration between PVSC and 55 municipalities in Nova Scotia, as well as supporting planning and development, GIS, public safety and other municipal departments.
“The Pictometry solution permits PVSC to continue to be the best provider of market valuation and property-related services,” said Kathy Gillis, PVSC’s Chief Executive Officer. “Selection of the Pictometry solution resulted from our recent process review and helps us realise our strategic goals to improve access to information, offer best product quality and deliver the best value for the money. Pictometry provides us the needed rich spatial detail combined with analysis and measurement capabilities and tight integration with our CAMA system.”
Pictometry’s proprietary geospatial image capture system produces Pictometry Intelligent Images — high resolution, aerial oblique images that reveal the fronts and sides of buildings and locations from multiple angles. This 3D-like, digital imagery is also geo-referenced, enabling analysis and metric measurement of locational features and is used by government and commercial entities globally.
PVSC is a municipally-funded, not-for-profit corporation that determines the market value of properties as legislated by the Nova Scotia Assessment Act. PVSC operates throughout the province of Nova Scotia.
