The Roads Network and Road Routing Information themes form the first release of data in the Integrated Transport Network (ITN) Layer, designed to provide a detailed view of Britain’s transport infrastructure. And the first images from the Imagery Layer are available online, giving a truly accurate visual representation of what is on the ground. Ordnance Survey hopes to complete national coverage in 2004, making it the world’s first commercially available orthorectified aerial photography of the whole of Great Britain. It will be possible to integrate data from the two layers with all existing OS MasterMap layers. That means users will be able to mix and match the exact data they need for a particular application with their own or other third party information.
