US: A southwest Ohio community college has received permission from the Federal Aviation Administration to fly drones in some commercial areas. The Dayton Daily News reported that the FAA has granted Sinclair Community College an exemption permitting it to fly drones in the additional spaces. The school plans to fly drones in order to perform services, test sensors and collect data.
The school offers four certification programmes and a two-year associate degree in the field of unmanned aerial systems and plans to build an indoor pavilion dedicated to drone flight.
