Norway, Azerbaijan agree on address information system

Azerbaijan: The State Committee for Property Affairs of Azerbaijan and Norwegian Mapping and Cadastre Authority signed a grant agreement on creation of the address register information system.

Karam Hasanov, Chairman, State Committee for Property Affairs of Azerbaijan, pointed out that the committee will initially use services of international consultants. It will determine system technical requirements and announce a tender to prepare the register database. The project will allow to create the address database.

He pointed out European Union`s EURADIN (European Address Infrastructure) and INSPIRE`s (Infrastructure for Spatial Information in Europe) practices will be used in order to bring the information system in line with European standards.

The agreement was signed by Karam Hasanov and head of the Norwegian Mapping and Cadastre Authority Helge Onsrud.
