US: A mega contract worth $250 million has been awarded to eight companies to offer hydrographic surveying services to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA).
The eight companies include Leidos, Ocean Surveys, Inc., David Evans and Associates Inc., TerraSond, Williams & Associates, C&C Technologies Survey Services, eTrac, Inc., Fugro World Wide.
As part of the contract, these companies are going to make available hydrographic data to update NOAA’s nautical charts of the coastal U.S. waters.
According to a Leidos release, the team will provide hydrographic data acquisition services using vertical beam echosounder, multibeam echosounder, side scan sonar, airborne bathymetric Lidar and airborne topographic Lidar in any of the priority areas as defined in the NOAA Hydrographic Survey Priorities.
