Mozambique launches mining cadastre portal

< 1 Minute Read

Mozambique: The Ministry of Mineral Resources (MIREM) in Mozambique has launched an Extractive Industry Transparency Initiative (EITI) compliant Mining Cadstre Portal for the country. The online portal is aimed at improving the transparency and promoting investment in the country’s mining sector.

Mozambique EITI Compliant Mining Cadastre Portal

Mozambique is known to be one of the hottest exploration destinations in the world. It has been an EITI Compliant country since 2012 which means that the mining contracts, together with their key contractual obligations, conditions and spatial footprint have to be made public. The online portal includes all mining tenure in Mozambique, and also the state mining contracts. The project was supported by a Canada-based company Spatial Dimensions.
