US: Colorado-based workflow management solution company, BuilderMT, has introduced a new estimating capability through its integration with CG Visions. Using CG Visions’ BIM Pipeline, BuilderMT users can now move design and option data from CAD and BIM systems directly into BuilderMT Estimating, even for home plans heavily customised in the options process. Builders can work entirely in digital design environments, through design programs like eTakeoff, PlanSwift, VisionREZ, Revit, AutoCAD and Vertex, saving time that used to go to redrawing plans or manually creating purchase orders to calculate costs. BuilderMT’s President Tom Gebes says that advances in CAD and BIM integration have taken great strides toward making the design process, the option selection process, and the purchasing process all one seamlessly integrated system. He adds that all builders are production custom builders, and this integration helps them to ensure margins and profits.
