GEOCOMtms, architect of the A.MAZE solution that simultaneously optimizes the routing and scheduling of fleet operations, announced that La Presse Ltd., the French language newspaper in North America has successfully implemented the A.MAZE Software to optimize its daily deliveries. From its production facilities, La Presse delivers daily to a variety of delivery points including individual paper delivery people, restaurants, convenience stores, hotels, delivery stands and distribution centers. The A.MAZE solution allows to optimize the delivery process while increasing utilization of not only the delivery assets but also the production assets. A.MAZE frees-up valuable time in production and delivery cycles. Jacques Gagnon, Distribution Director at La Presse stated, Despite the increase in multi-channel media choices, the traditional printed newspaper delivered at oneโ€™s doorstep continues to grow. To achieve on-time delivery and improved route network operations, La Presse needs to optimize its fleetโ€™s activities, which include truck volume capacity constraints (this varies depending on the day of the week) and loading time; an average of 6,000 daily delivery drops (again, varies depending on the day of the week) that need to be processed within strict time windows.
