MapInfo Corporation announced today that Wayne McDougall, vice president of finance and corporate controller, will assume responsibilities as chief financial officer on an interim basis, effective immediately.
He replaces Joseph Gersuk who has resigned from his position as executive vice president, treasurer and chief financial officer to pursue other business opportunities. Gersuk will remain with the company until March 31, 2003 to assist with the transition.
McDougall has been with MapInfo since November 1997 as corporate controller and was promoted to vice president of finance in 2000. As corporate controller, he has been responsible for all accounting and reporting functions worldwide, and has played a key role in mergers and acquisitions, in establishing credit facilities and maintaining banking relationships, and in supporting interactions with the investment community. He also spearheaded the implementation of the company’s internal audit function. Prior to joining MapInfo, McDougall was employed by PriceWaterhouseCoopers for eight years. In his interim role, McDougall will report to Mark Cattini, MapInfo president and chief executive officer.
