July 9, 2002, Legato Systems, which enterprise in information management software, and ESRI, has announced the availability of ApplicationXtender® for ArcGIS. This solution seamlessly links Legato’s content management solution, ApplicationXtender, with ESRI’s system for geographic data creation, management, integration, and analysis, ArcGIS.
With ApplicationXtender for ArcGIS, customers can now electronically link ArcGIS feature-data to any type of document or file managed by ApplicationXtender. As an example, a user can now select a hospital location on a map layer in their GIS system and with a click of their mouse, can easily retrieve related documents such as incident reports, permits, inspection reports, maintenance reports, technical specifications, etc. As a result, we’re enabling our customers to make faster and more informed decisions, while streamlining processes and boosting productivity.”
By fully integrating ESRI’s ArcGIS with Legato’s ApplicationXtender, customers receive a solution that efficiently provides data generation, storage and retrieval of files related to spatial locations. Legato’s offering of ApplicationXtender resulted from the recent acquisition of OTG Software.
