Lebanon: The Health Ministry of Lebanon on Tuesday launched a project aimed at developing a health map for the country. The project will be implemented with the support of the World Health Organisation (WHO).
The exercise is an extension of the “Country Cooperation Strategy (CCS) for WHO and Lebanon 2010–2015”. The CCS examines the health situation in Lebanon within a holistic approach that encompasses the health sector, socioeconomic determinants of health and national policies and strategies that have a major bearing on health. The exercise aims at identifying the health priorities in Lebanon and providing support within a framework of six years in order to strengthen the impact on health policy and health system development. The aim of the health mapping project is to keep policy-makers informed about the distribution of health services in the country. The map will include details about all the hospitals, medical centres, ambulances, doctors and other healthcare professionals in the country.
