Satellite imaging company GeoEye Inc. has named Joseph Greeves as its new executive vice president and chief financial officer.
Greeves, who previously served as the chief financial officer of McLean-based Managed Object Solutions Inc., will be responsible for managing GeoEye’s financial planning, corporate accounting and public company disclosure requirements.
Greeves has served in the same capacity for four public companies, including Bethesda-based Opnet Technologies Inc. and Rockville-based Fusion Systems Corp.
Greeves also consulted for D.C.-based venture firm Lazard Technology Partners LLC as its CFO executive in residence before he joined Managed Object Solutions.
“Joe’s experience in various industries relevant to GeoEye, such as visualization software and experience in international and government sales will be very helpful as GeoEye develops location-based information services for our customers,” said GeoEye CEO Matt O’Connell, in a statement. “We also look to Joe to step up our investor relations activities.”
Dulles-based GeoEye increased revenue 26 percent to $45 million in the first quarter compared to the first quarter of 2008, as the company began fulfilling commercial orders from the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency.
