September 25, 2002: Intermap Technologies has announced that it will map the island nation of Vanuatu in the South West Pacific Ocean. The contract with the Commonwealth of Australia is for the provision of terrain elevation and imagery data for more than 40 major islands of Vanuatu. Intermap will be using its proprietary mapping technology to see through the clouds in these difficult to map areas.

Intermap has deployed its proprietary IFSAR technology to Vanuatu. The terrain elevation mapping and image products will support new 1:50,000 scale mapping of the Islands as well as the creation of other map based products. Intermap will begin this work in its third quarter with final data delivery scheduled for the summer of 2003.
