July 26,2002-Celebrating education excellence, Intergraph Mapping and GIS Solutions has announced that it would award GeoMedia education grants valued at more than $6 million dollars. The grants will recognize innovative teaching that advances the use of geographic information sciences by educators and students in the classroom. The GeoMedia Education Grants Program will award grants on two levels, including 1) community colleges, technical schools, and universities, and 2) K-12 and primary and secondary schools.
By taking advantage of these grants, students and teachers can use GeoMedia’s leading-edge technology to explore new possibilities and impact the future of geographic information systems (GIS). They can learn GIS principles and methodology, spatial analysis techniques, GIS data construction, and a variety of other application capabilities. The products that will be part of the grant program are GeoMedia Professional, GeoMedia WebMap Professional, and IntelliWhere(TM) On Demand and IntelliWhere Location Server with Intergraph’s powerful location-based services technology.
