Infotech Enterprises announced on 13th March that its UK subsidiary, Infotech Enterprises Europe Ltd, has signed a multi-million Euro contract with GE Energy to provide geospatial data management services for Swisscom Fixnet, Switzerland. As a part of the Swisscom initiative called Project Planning Tool for the Access Network (PTA) , Infotech will be responsible for performing all the data transformation work of Swisscom’s network asset information from different legacy systems to a new target system based on GE’s Smallworld Network Inventory Product Suite. Infotech will create the spatial database for GE to implement a network planning solution for Swisscom. In addition Infotech will provide related software services such as process automation, query and generation tools. The project will be executed over three and a half years and involve up to 400 staff at Infotech’s offshore production facilities as well as a local project team based in Bern, which will provide a range of services including project management and query support.
