India’s GPS-aided geo augmented navigation system is now fully operational

India: As the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) announces the complete operationalisation of the GPS Aided Geo Augmented Navigation (GAGAN), India has become the fourth nation after the US, Europe and Japan to have inter-operable Satellite Based Augmentation System (SBAS). GAGAN began broadcasting APV1 Certified signals this month to become the first SBAS system in the world to serve the equatorial region.
