India: Mizoram University has decided to use GIS-based solutions to display and analyse geological data for better understanding the history of the Earth from its formation to the present day. The university also aims at using this system to understand environmental issues related to geology.
The Department of Geology at the Mizoram University has opted to use SuperGIS Desktop 3.1a which allows the educators and the students to integrate, visualise, edit, and manage all types of geological data of ancient creatures, stratums, minerals, etc. and create geologic maps with ease. In addition, SuperGIS Analysts including SuperGIS 3D Analyst, Spatial Analyst, Spatial Statistical Analyst, and Network Analyst are also used to understand the real geologic phenomenon with in-depth analyses.
