Union Minister for Communications and Information Technology in India, Dayanidhi Maran, has asked the transport industry to use GPS for optimal utilization of its resources. He also said that developments in telematics would continue to have impact on all modes of transportation systems- road, rail, air and shipping. According a Frost and Sulivan Report, the whole gamut of vehicle telematics including in-vehicle telematics, inter-vehicle telematics and vehicle to world telematics are estimated to have a market of 5 billion dollars by 2004.
